Confidentiality
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I subscribe to the BACP Ethical Framework which has a complaints procedure to which I am accountable.
Our work together is confidential. Any notes I make are stored securely and written so that your anonymity is preserved.
I do not disclose information you share with me to other people, the exceptions being:
a. Where there is serious risk of harm either to you (the client) or to someone else.
b. Where there is illegality.
c. Where there is a specific written request from you (the client) to share information with a named third party (e.g. a legal representative).
d. It is a requirement of my member organisations that I review the work I do with my supervisor on a monthly basis. I am happy to discuss my supervision arrangements with you should you wish. I keep your identity confidential.
e. In the event of my incapacity or death my nominated professional colleague will gain access to your contact details, inform you of any relevant situation and offer guidance in finding support elsewhere.
